Job summary
Pro Found Recruiting, LLC is seeking an Automation Project Engineer in Mebane, NC. This onsite role focuses on guiding automation projects from planning through commissioning, coordinating suppliers and equipment, and ensuring successful handover to production.
You’ll work with a global engineering team and travel up to 25% domestically or internationally as needed. A strong automation background and PLC experience are required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is required.
- 5+ years of automation engineering experience is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens or Rockwell PLC systems is essential.
- Experience in process automation or machine integration and willingness to learn.
- Strong coordination, organization and communication skills to manage suppliers and projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead automation and electrical project scopes from planning through startup and handover.
- Define technical requirements, coordinate suppliers and manage scope, schedules and budgets.
- Integrate equipment and controls into connected production systems.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, documentation and training.
- Provide escalated technical support to plant teams and suppliers for complex issues.
- Collaborate with engineering and IT on automation standards and system security.
