Job summary
Daimler Truck North America in Gastonia, NC is seeking motivated interns to join the Automation and Engineering team in a high-volume manufacturing setting. You will help maintain and improve automated equipment, collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot issues, and support projects that enhance safety, quality and productivity.
Internships begin in May/June, with potential to transition to full-time based on performance and business needs.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or recent graduate in a relevant engineering field.
- Basic understanding of industrial automation concepts incl. robotics and PLCs.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments and engineering docs.
Responsibilities
- Support troubleshooting of automated equipment including robots and fabrication machines.
- Assist with continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality and productivity.
- Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems (architecture, standards, procedures).
- Support data collection and visualization to improve equipment visibility and metrics.
- Collaborate with maintenance, production and engineering to drive improvements.
