Job summary

Actalent is seeking anAssistant Superintendent for a field-based, permanent role based out of Minneapolis, MN. You will coordinate multiple commercial construction projects across corporate workplaces, private education, multi-housing, and related sectors in the Midwest, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and quality alignment with project specs.

The role requires active site management, collaboration with owners, architects, and subcontractors, and travel to project locations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple construction projects simultaneously in commercial environments.
• Strong project management and coordination of field activities and subcontractors.
• Proficiency in producing and maintaining project schedules with milestones and critical paths.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply project drawings and specifications on site.
• Experience in tenant improvement, site construction, renovation, or mixed-use projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple construction projects of varying sizes on active sites, ensuring progress and quality.
• Create and maintain detailed schedules with milestones and critical paths.
• Communicate clearly with owners, architects, and subcontractors to align on goals and changes.
• Attend weekly progress meetings and report on schedule, issues, and actions.
• Coordinate punch list completion per project schedule and customer expectations.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, management, field staff, and subcontractors.
• Read drawings and specifications and apply them to field execution and issue resolution.
• Ensure up-to-date drawings and documents are on site for all trades.
• Follow RFIs, change orders, and project coordination procedures.
• Support safety culture through toolbox talks and OSHA compliance.
