Job summary

AMN Healthcare Language Services is seeking an on-site ASL Medical InPerson Interpreter in Cedar Park, TX to facilitate direct communication between Deaf/HOH patients and healthcare providers. This freelance opportunity offers flexible sessions and access to multiple facilities through the AMN IPI app.

Qualified interpreters will hold NAD 4 or higher or equivalent RID/NBCMI certification, maintain HIPAA awareness, and deliver professional, culturally competent service across medical settings.

Qualifications

• Must be certified at NAD Level 4 or higher or an equivalent certification (RID, NIC, BEI Advanced).
• Knowledge of NAD/RID Code of Professional Conduct and Deaf Culture ethics.
• HIPAA training/awareness and ability to work within medical settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective onsite interpreting services for patients and providers.
• Maintain professional appearance, punctuality, and preparedness for shifts.
• Adapt to changing technology and scheduling via AMN IPI App.
• Adhere to interpreting ethics and procedures in medical contexts (hospitals, clinics).
• Respect LEP clients and cultural considerations in medical procedures.
• Demonstrate strong customer service and interpreting passion.
