Job summary

Flowserve is seeking an Application Engineer to support design, manufacturing, installation and operation of pumps and seals at customer sites in the oil and chemical industries. The role includes real-time technical support, on-site troubleshooting, and recommendations for repairs or upgrades, with also involvement at the Detroit repair center.

The position requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, strong customer focus, and the ability to travel locally, with some overnight trips.

Qualifications

BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
In-plant operations experience highly desired.
Knowledge of mechanical seals and rotating equipment (centrifugal and vacuum pumps).
Strong customer focus and professional image.
Able to problem-solve and work with customers and co-workers.
Local travel and some overnight travel required.
Credentials for site access (TWIC, background check, drug screen, driver’s license, safety training) may be required.

Responsibilities

Communicate customer needs to Flowserve and be the primary source for design, installation, operation, and maintenance info.
Liaise between customers and Flowserve teams (sales, reliability, CS, and manufacturing).
Troubleshoot problems at customer sites and at the Repair Center.
Complete projects with hands-on and analytical approaches (reports, product performance).
Evaluate data to support improvement, replacement, or repair recommendations.
Present clear technical explanations tailored to the audience.
