Job summary

Voyager Technologies in Pueblo, CO is seeking an Analytical Chemist to perform chemical and physical tests per MILSPEC standards for raw materials, in-process oxidizers, and final composites used in rocket motor manufacturing. The role supports test method development and lab expansion.

You will generate CoAs, maintain QA documentation, and work closely with government researchers to ensure compliance. Onsite role with opportunities to advance in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field with 3–4 years in analytical lab, or Master's with 1–2 years of experience.
• Experience with analytical instrumentation including ICP-OES, load frame, bomb calorimeter, gravimetric analysis and related equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple tasks and recording data.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Experience with safety reviews for chemical testing and processes, including oxidizers or energetic materials.
• Experience writing and maintaining SOPs, test worksheets, and batch records.
• Experience with LIMS for sample tracking and data management.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain state and federal explosives licenses.

Responsibilities

• Execute chemical and physical tests per MILSPEC standards for materials; generate CoAs for final testing.
• Assist in development and implementation of new chemical production processes and test procedures.
• Perform mechanical property, thermal stability, raw material, and particle size analyses for rocket motor manufacturing.
• Assist with selection of equipment to support lab expansion.
• Manage sample chain of custody from inspection to disposition.
• Record and analyze experimental data; prepare reports, CoAs, and presentations.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, worksheets, and batch records per quality system.
• Coordinate with government scientists to update MILSPEC procedures and calibrate lab equipment.
