Job summary

RTX's Surface Radars & Sensors Center in Portsmouth, RI seeks a motivated STEM student for an internship/co-op role in systems engineering. You will support design, integration, verification and test activities across naval undersea and surface domains, and gain hands-on experience with hardware, software, and requirements traceability.

This onsite role offers exposure to data analysis with MATLAB and Python, collaboration across disciplines, and opportunities to contribute to final customer

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) Technology or Engineering degree program and will be at minimum entering sophomore year by summer 2026.
• Experience with MATLAB or Python for data analysis and automation.
• Must have a minimum of 60 credit hours by the start of the internship/co-op session.

Responsibilities

• Support systems engineering activities across the design V-model, including requirements definition, architecture development, integration, verification, and validation.
• Conduct data analysis of acoustics, radar and sonar data using MATLAB tools.
• Perform requirements analysis, development and management.
• Support developing and maintaining system requirements with traceability through design, implementation and test.
• Assist in planning and execution of Integration, Verification, or Test activities.
• Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders.
