Job summary

PPG in Sylmar, CA is seeking a Plant Quality Manager to lead the Quality function for our Aerospace Transparencies site. You will drive compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 and FAA/EASA Part 21 while promoting continuous improvement and operational excellence across the plant.

You will report to the Senior Global Quality Manager and work with site leadership to align with PPG's global quality goals, overseeing QMS, audits, CAPA, and product conformity initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.
• 6+ years of quality experience in aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing.
• Demonstrated experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA Part 21, and EASA Part 21.
• Background in auditing, CAPA/RCCA, MRB, and root cause analysis.
• Proficiency with aerospace quality tools: APQP, SPC, FMEA, control plans, NDT/CMM, Minitab/JMP.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain the site QMS and lead audit activities.
• Ensure compliance with FAA and EASA Part 21 regulatory requirements.
• Lead internal and customer/regulatory audits and close CAPA/RCCA actions.
• Implement AS9145 for aerospace programs and PPAP deliverables.
• Provide quality leadership for new products and process changes.
• Oversee nonconformance investigations and MRB activities.
• Conduct risk assessments including FMEA and preventive controls.
• Monitor quality KPIs and drive data-driven improvements.
