Job summary

PPG Industries is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to lead EHS programs for the Aerospace Transparencies segment in Sylmar, CA. You will drive compliance, safety culture, and continuous improvement across a mid-sized manufacturing environment.

You will report to the Regional EHS Director and partner with site leadership to implement regulatory requirements, conduct trainings, and advance PPG’s safety priorities in a fast-paced aerospace setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Safety Sciences, Occupational Health, Environmental Management or related discipline.
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in manufacturing or related industries.
• GSP or CSP designation is a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and process-improvement skills.
• Knowledge of Cal/OSHA, environmental compliance, risk management, and EHS systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to site management in the development of EHS goals that drive continuous improvement.
• Engage on the production floor to reinforce a One PPG EHS culture with employees, supervisors and management.
• Coordinate the incident management program, investigate EHS incidents and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Provide technical advice on EHS regulations and ensure compliance with state, local and federal regulations; prepare regulatory reports.
• Drive safety initiatives including job safety analysis, site safety risk assessments, risk mitigation, and Management of Change.
• Conduct industrial hygiene tasks such as air monitoring, noise monitoring, ventilation assessments, and PPE programs.
• Lead or participate in safety teams and committees; conduct monthly EHS trainings; serve on the Emergency Response Team.
