Vaco by Highspring in Garner, NC is seeking an Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller to lead month-end close, financial reporting, and intercompany accounting across multiple operating companies. This hands-on role offers broad exposure to accounting operations and opportunities to modernize systems and processes.

You will mentor accounting staff, supervise tasks where appropriate, and partner with operations teams to improve controls, accuracy, and profitability.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong month-end close, general ledger, and reconciliation experience.
• Experience with accruals, financial statement preparation, and account analysis.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting controls.

Responsabilidades

• Lead month-end close activities across multiple operating companies.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaids, amortizations, and recurring accounting adjustments.
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Research unusual accounting activity and resolve discrepancies.
• Support annual review, audit, and tax preparation activities.
• Provide oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management processes.
• Review transaction coding, approvals, and accounting controls.
• Assist with weekly cash reporting and related analysis.
• Provide operational support and backup across accounting functions.
• Help ensure accuracy and consistency across accounting processes.
• Maintain and monitor job cost accounting processes.
• Review project performance, costs, billings, and margins.
• Support work-in-process schedules and related reporting.
• Partner with operations teams to resolve project accounting issues.
• Monitor project profitability and financial performance.
• Improve accounting workflows and reduce manual processes.
• Enhance utilization of accounting and operational systems.
• Help standardize procedures and develop accounting SOPs.
• Improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
• Support future system upgrades and process automation efforts.
• Assist with cross-training and documentation initiatives.
• Mentor and support accounting team members.
• Help establish accountability and consistency within accounting operations.
