Job description

Responsibilities

The Online Sales Consultant will respond to new home sales inquiries via phone calls, emails, web chats, and direct leads, directing pre-qualified prospects to the appropriate DSA (Designated Selling Area) for the Meritage Homes Division in Houston, TX. They will serve as the initial contact and local market expert for all new real estate agent leads, acting as the liaison between new homebuyers and onsite sales associates.

The Online Sales Consultant will be responsible for:

  • Responding to all internet leads within 1 hour of initial contact.
  • Responding to caller inquiries within 1 hour of the initial call.
  • Engaging with chat inquiries during business hours.
  • Building rapport with prospective buyers, answering questions, guiding them through discovery, highlighting features, community amenities, plans, and options to generate interest.
  • Managing leads and realtor follow-up using CRM software to maintain engagement and uncover sales opportunities.
  • Working all leads until they are ready to proceed to the next sales phase.
  • Scheduling appointments between customers and Sales Associates.
  • Assisting real estate agents with unaccompanied tours using tools like Supra or ShowingTime.
  • Initiating and maintaining email drip campaigns via Salesforce.com.
  • Maintaining relationships with on-site Sales Associates through regular contact, attending sales rallies, and ongoing training.
  • Collaborating with Marketing to ensure website and marketing content accuracy.
  • Gaining comprehensive product and community knowledge, including community details, local area information, and market trends.
  • Providing exceptional customer experiences.
  • Following workflow processes for each lead type to ensure proper follow-up and engagement.
  • Conducting outbound campaigns to inform customers and realtors about events and new developments, and scheduling appointments.
Qualifications

Education: Minimum High School diploma; some college or a Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience: Prior experience in internet sales, marketing, outside sales, or lead generation preferred; real estate license required if mandated by the state.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability to manage web content, Salesforce experience preferred, softphone experience a plus.

Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, email, and phone skills; professionalism; influence and closing skills; team orientation.

Judgment and Mental Abilities: High integrity, attention to detail, self-motivated, organized, adaptable, and capable of prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.

Unique Requirements

Travel: Some travel to communities or division offices as needed.

Work Environment: Remote work setup required with high-speed internet and dedicated workspace.

Work Schedule: Typically 8:30 am – 5:30 pm, with potential for early or late hours, weekend work, and varying days off.
