Job summary

Quinnipiac University’s School of Nursing invites applicants who are dynamic psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) clinicians and educators for a full‑time, 12‑month clinical track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to serve as Program Director for the PMHNP program.

The program emphasizes learner‑centered approaches, clinical judgment, and evidence‑based practice.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DNP) in nursing or related field required.
Unencumbered Connecticut APRN license and PMHNP national certification.
Recent PMHNP clinical practice experience.
Experience with competency-based education and curriculum development.
Evidence of effective teaching and program leadership.

Responsibilities

Teach and supervise graduate nursing students in the online PMHNP MSN program.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high‑quality programs and academic excellence.
Ensure program compliance with accreditation standards.
Oversee daily management of the PMHNP MSN program.
Develop, maintain, and evaluate quality clinical experiences for students.
Participate in recruitment, admissions review, enrollment management, and retention initiatives.
Design and implement learning experiences reflecting competency‑based education.
Engage in competency‑based curriculum development, assessment, and quality improvement.
Advise and mentor students to support academic success and professional growth.
Contribute to school and university service, including committee participation.
Engage in scholarly activities and maintain currency in nursing education.
