Job summary
Fort Valley State University invites applications for an Instructional Designer. Under supervision of the Director of Online Learning, this role assists faculty in developing and delivering online classes and in designing multimedia content that aligns with current standards.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and more than three years of related experience, with strong knowledge of online instructional design and accessibility requirements.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of instructional design in online learning and standards.
- Experience developing online courses and training faculty.
- Familiarity with ADA/Section 508 accessibility requirements.
- Ability to create multimedia and webpages using modern web tools.
Responsibilities
- Develop online courses and multimedia based on current design standards.
- Develop aesthetic presentations for online courses.
- Train and assist faculty in the use of the learning management system.
- Assist students in the use of the learning management system.
- Update and manage relevant portions of the FVSU website.
- Develop online training materials to assist with faculty development.
- Assist in policy and procedure development.
- Research software to enhance the online learning environment.
- Research pedagogical techniques and trends in online education.
