Job summary

California Virtual Academies seeks a highly qualified teacher for TK-8 virtual instruction in California. The role requires delivering standards-based content online and in person, guiding students through coursework and assessments, and engaging families to support student growth.

The teacher will manage attendance, provide regular feedback, and participate in quarterly meetings and testing processes. A CA teaching credential and EL authorization are required.

Qualifications

• Permanent California Residence and current eligibility to work in CA.
• Valid/current Preliminary/Clear/Life California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.
• California English Learner Authorization issued by CTC.
• Bachelor’s degree and strong content knowledge in assigned subject area.

Responsibilities

• Know and understand the curriculum for assigned grade level(s).
• Instruct online and in-person lessons daily using formal/informal assessment data.
• Meet with parents quarterly to discuss progress, learning styles, and goals.
• Generate reports based on conferences with parents and students.
• Ensure completion of assessments and use data to guide instruction.
• Record attendance and participate in state reporting processes.
