Job summary

Western Governors University seeks an Instructional Designer to create high-quality, engaging educational experiences aligned with program outcomes. You will manage the course development process, evaluate curricular materials with stakeholders, and apply learning science to curriculum design.

You will collaborate across teams, research and refine learning experiences, and promote accountability through to project completion. A master's in a related field and 3 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field.
• 3 years of professional experience designing and developing instructional materials or learning experiences in higher education or corporate training.
• Curriculum development, course design, collaboration with subject matter experts, and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality, engaging educational experiences aligned with program outcomes and course scope.
• Manage course development processes and evaluate curricular materials with stakeholders.
• Apply evidence-based design strategies and learning science to curricula.
• Collaborate across teams to research, design, and refine learning experiences.
• Track progress, assess risk, and communicate updates to promote accountability.
