Job summary
University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach in the Data Analytics, Master of Science, program at Pearl City, HI. This role requires a terminal degree in data science or related field and online higher-education teaching experience.
Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years of professional Data Analytics experience and industry certifications are a plus. New faculty complete the two-week online orientation (FacDev 411) as a condition of hire.
Qualifications
- Terminal degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Experience teaching within online higher education settings.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in Data Analytics, Data Science and AI.
Responsibilities
- Actively engage online students with frequent interaction to motivate success.
- Guide students in collaborative, problem- and project-based learning demonstrations.
- Provide rich, regular feedback using rubrics to assess student work.
- Demonstrate current subject-matter expertise and connect concepts across the program.
- Provide feedback to the program chair on curricular improvements.
