Job summary

ECPI University seeks an online faculty member in Psychology to deliver hands-on instruction using Canvas LMS and live Zoom sessions. Training and ongoing support are provided; no prior teaching experience required.

Minimum Master’s in Criminal Justice with 3–5 years industry experience; 5–7 years preferred. Expect weekly live sessions, weekly office hours, and strong student engagement in a fast-paced 5-week course format.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, or Master’s with 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline; Ph.D. preferred.
• 3–5 years industry experience required; 5–7 years preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to teach online.

Responsibilities

• Teach online courses using Canvas LMS in an engaging virtual environment.
• Deliver one live Zoom session per week and maintain a weekly office hour.
• Mentor online students and support Canvas-based assignments and assessments.

As a faculty member, you'll provide practical hands-on instruction through the Canvas LMS in an engaging learning environment, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies in order to enhance the learning experience of our

Education/Certifications:

Required:

• Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline from a regionally accredited educational institution; Ph.D. in Criminal Justice discipline preferred.

Experience:

• 3-5 years industry experience required; 5-7 years career industry experience preferred


• Industry experience must be within the last 5 years.


• Appropriate technical certification or licensure (if required)

Required Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.


• Proficiency in using technology to deliver online curriculum (Windows, Zoom)


• Ability to quickly build connections with students using strong interpersonal skills (including approachability and empathy).


• Ability to work in a 5-week accelerated course environment


• The highest levels of integrity at all times.

Online Faculty Technical Requirements:

• Reliable high-speed internet required


• Responsible for supplying your own windows-based computer and webcam.


• Your computer system must pass the ECPI University minimum requirements test.


• Required to teach one live session each week via Zoom and hold one live office hour per week via Zoom
