Job summary

University of Minnesota in Duluth is inviting applications for part-time adjunct faculty in the Master of Engineering program. The positions are non-tenure-track for spring semester (Jan 7–May 23, 2007) to develop curriculum and teach two graduate courses online: ENGR 6204 and ENGR 6205.

Courses are fully asynchronous online with typical appointments of one to two classes per semester; candidates should be able to teach both courses and manage virtual offices, grading, and student support.

Qualifications

• Ph.D./MS in Engineering from a regionally accredited university.
• One year of relevant teaching experience at the college level (graduate TA experience acceptable) or professional experience in a relevant field.
• Effective written and oral communication skills appropriate to the position.
• Experience using technology for teaching.

Responsibilities

• Developing and teaching ENGR 6204 and ENGR 6205
• Demonstrating high command of the subject matter
• Having well organized course plans and delivering courses clearly to students
