Job summary

Colorado Technical University is seeking a part-time adjunct faculty member to deliver instruction across graduate and undergraduate levels. Faculty will prepare engaging materials, align courses with CTU curricula, and foster student success in a flexible, online and campus setting.

Responsibilities include mentoring students, maintaining office hours, and collaborating with program chairs and staff. Candidates should bring prosecutor or law enforcement experience and strong teaching with LMS

Qualifications

• JD from a nationally accredited institution for graduate level teaching.
• JD from a nationally accredited institution for undergraduate level teaching.
• Experience as a prosecutor, US Attorney, or with state/federal law enforcement.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current trends in criminal justice.
• Significant practitioner experience in criminal justice.
• Experience teaching non-traditional students.
• Experience teaching with an online LMS and rubrics for feedback.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engaging instructional materials aligned with CTU curricula and outcomes.
• Deliver courses (including labs/work integral to courses) per CTU standards.
• Engage students to promote participation with professionalism.
• Relate industry experience to CTU's Professional Learning Model and trends.
• Maintain accessibility and timely responsiveness via CTU channels.
• Establish weekly office hours for student support.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Document student course activities and outcomes.
• Collaborate with CTU teams to support at-risk students.
• Refer students to co-curricular resources and services.
• Participate in academic governance and assessment processes.
• Complete required faculty certifications and trainings.
• Provide documentation of licensures, certifications, and experience.
