Job summary

Louisiana State University of Alexandria seeks an adjunct instructor to teach AFST 3030: Black Musical Traditions in an online format as part of the Bachelor of General Studies in Africana Studies program.

The instructor will develop a syllabus, select textbooks, prepare lectures and assignments, and be available for student conferences, with online Moodle delivery and timely grading per university guidelines.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Music or Africana Studies or related field.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to teach online via Moodle.

Responsibilities

• Develop class syllabus.
• Order textbooks before start of class.
• Prepare lectures, PDFs and assignments.
• Be available for student conferences.
• Deliver instruction aligned with online course description.
• Submit attendance per university policy.
• Evaluate student work in a timely manner.
• Submit midterm and final grades per regulations.
• Provide student evaluation of the course.
• Build rapport with students and faculty.
