Job summary

MiaPrep Online Academy of Ohio seeks an Academic Dean to lead instructional staff, supervise teachers, and oversee data and testing coordination. The role partners with Counselors and Advisors to implement student interventions and support, ensuring compliance with state requirements and high instructional standards.

The Academic Dean will coach teachers with warmth and rigor, translate data into actionable strategies, and contribute to schoolwide planning.

Qualifications

Proven leadership experience managing, coaching, or mentoring teachers.
Strong judgment with sensitive student, family, and staff situations.
Collaborative approach across teams, especially with student support professionals.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with well-documented decisions.
Growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Directly supervise instructional staff with weekly 1:1 coaching and goal setting.
Lead recruiting, onboarding, and training for new teachers.
Observe live instruction and provide actionable feedback bi-weekly.
Monitor grading practices to ensure timely, high-quality feedback.
Conduct annual and semi-annual performance reviews and manage timecard approvals.
Coordinate instructional and grading coverage for teacher absences.
Address performance concerns with clear expectations and improvement plans.
