Job summary

School District 622 - North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale is seeking a Long Term Sub Speech Pathologist for one year to support student services across District-Wide settings.

The role involves direct instruction, IEP development, due process adherence, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The position requires a MN teaching license as a Speech Language Pathologist and a Master's degree, with experience serving school-age students and knowledge of special education procedures.

Qualifications

• Appropriate MN teaching license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Masters degree or equivalent.
• Experience working with students with Communication Disorders.
• Knowledge of special education due process procedures.
• Experience working with school age students.
• Experience working on a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to due process guidelines using district methods to evaluate and identify communication disorders; participate in team decisions on eligibility; assist in evaluation plans and reports.
• Serve as case manager for appropriate students by developing IEPs; facilitate IEP meetings; provide rights and safeguards information; share progress reports with parents.
• Maintain confidentiality per data privacy, FERPA and HIPAA legislation.
• Provide direct instruction to remediate communication disorders or provide alternate means of communication to help students meet IEP goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to plan and implement curriculum related to speech and language goals.
• Provide job performance feedback to and supervise paraprofessionals in implementing IEP goals.
• Maintain data to monitor and evaluate student progress.
• Advocate for the needs of the child with communication disorders.
