Job summary

The Research Technician will participate in basic and translational cancer research investigating how mRNA translation regulates cancer progression, tumor immunity, and therapeutic response.

The technician will contribute to molecular biology experiments, tissue culture, and animal studies, including studies related to cancer-cell signaling, antigen presentation, immune responses, and responses to experimental therapeutics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related science or equivalent skills and related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily mammalian cell culture and a moderate number of simple or moderate technical procedures.
• Molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA isolation; PCR/qPCR; western blotting; drug treatment experiments; flow cytometry.
• Assist with molecular cloning and mouse tumor studies and sample preparation for genomic, ribosome-profiling and proteomic analyses.
• Prepare reagents; assist with lab organization and inventory; maintain accurate experimental records.
• Occasional guidance; order routine supplies; rarely modify procedures; rarely train or guide others; interpret and analyze data; contribute to papers and grant proposals.
