Job summary

Michigan Medicine's Division of Rheumatology seeks a full-time Research Lab Technician Senior to support translational cancer immunology research and development of immunotherapies for prostate cancer. You will work with immune cells, cancer lines, and perform molecular assays in a collaborative setting.

Responsibilities include cell culture, flow cytometry, ELISA, qRT-PCR, and in vivo rodent studies, with emphasis on data collection and interpretation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in biology or related field.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture.
• Familiarity with flow cytometry, ELISA, histology, or qRT-PCR.
• Strong data analysis and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Culture and maintain primary human immune cells and cancer lines.
• Perform cell-based assays for migration, activation, and tumor cell killing.
• Prepare samples for ELISA and plate-based assays.
• Conduct multicolor flow cytometry and assist data analysis.
• RNA isolation, cDNA synthesis, qRT-PCR, and western blotting.
• Assist with CRISPR-based gene-editing and validation of cell lines.
• Support in vivo rodent studies and tumor monitoring.
• Process tissues for histology, IHC, and immunofluorescence.
• Maintain lab records and assist with data collection and organization.
• Collaborate with core facilities on research projects.
• Assist with lab organization and equipment maintenance.
