Job summary

The Goddard School in Waxhaw, NC is seeking a nurturing One Year Olds Lead Teacher to join our 5-star preschool. You will supervise and co-lead activities, implement the Wonder of Learning curriculum, and partner with parents to support early development.

We offer competitive pay starting at $18+ per hour, a full benefits package including health, dental, vision, PTO, parental leave, and opportunities for training and growth. The school operates a 9-hour day with a one-hour lunch break.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor in ECE or related field preferred.
• Certified CDA is a plus.
• Minimum 1 year of classroom teaching experience.
• Experience with infants 6 weeks to 12 months preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and move equipment as needed.
• Follow Goddard and state licensing health/safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classroom and co-lead activities throughout the day.
• Observe children’s interests and implement the Wonder of Learning curriculum.
• Develop weekly lesson plans with Curriculum Coordinator guidance.
• Communicate with parents daily about children’s progress and adventures.

What’s it like to be a teacher at our School?

Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred; Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
• At least 1 year of teaching experience in a classroom setting
• At least 1 year of experience working with infants aged 6 weeks to 12 months
• Develops relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, and faculty members
• Works cooperatively alongside all co-teachers and school resource teachers
• Works productively without supervision within established organizational policies and procedures
• Is highly motivated and takes direction well
• Ability to complete weekly lesson plans and carry them out within the classroom
• Must be committed to following Goddard and state licensing guidelines to ensure the health, safety, and education of all children
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
• Qualifying letter from NC DCDEE (We will help you apply if you do not already have one!)
