Job summary

The Goddard School in Maryland seeks a dedicated lead teacher to coordinate daily operations of designated classes and deliver engaging educational activities. You will plan, present, and evaluate activities while working closely with children and their parents to deliver quality customer service.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or higher in early childhood education, relevant MSDE certifications, and 1–2 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• MSDE 45-hour Infant/Toddler Certification required.
• CDA certification preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in a childcare setting is expected.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maintain safety standards.
• Background check eligibility required.

Our lead teachers are responsible for coordinating the daily operations of assigned classes. Teachers will plan, present, and evaluate educational and recreational activities for childcare in a safe environment. Teachers work directly with children and parents daily to provide quality customer service.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
• 99-PreSchool Certification perferred/45-hour Infant/Toddler Certification (MSDE) required
• Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
• 1-2 years of previous experience required
• Develops relationships and communicate effectively with children, parents, and faculty members
• Ability to calmly address stressful situations professionally while multi-tasking to ensure smooth school operations
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib
