Job summary

The Goddard School of Waxhaw is seeking a qualified One Year Olds Lead Teacher to join our 5-star campus. You will supervise and co-lead activities, implement the Wonder of Learning curriculum, and partner with families to support development.

Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred.
• Develops relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, and faculty members.
• Works cooperatively with co-teachers and school staff.
• Ability to plan weekly lesson plans and implement them in the classroom.
• Must follow Goddard and state licensing guidelines to ensure health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classroom and co-lead all classroom activities throughout the day.
• Observe children’s interests and plan inclusive activities using the Wonder of Learning curriculum.
• Develop weekly lesson plans with the Curriculum Coordinator.
• Communicate with parents daily about their children’s progress and achievements via apps and discussions.
• Engage with other childcare professionals and continue to grow professionally.

The Goddard School located at 1528 Providence Road S Waxhaw, North Carolina has been open since 2011 and has 150 children under our care. What’s it like to be a teacher at our School?

Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred; Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
• At least 1 year of teaching experience in a classroom setting
• At least 1 year of experience working with infants aged 6 weeks to 12 months
• Develops relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, and faculty members
• Works cooperatively alongside all co-teachers and school resource teachers
• Works productively without supervision within established organizational policies and procedures
• Is highly motivated and takes direction well
• Ability to complete weekly lesson plans and carry them out within the classroom
• Must be committed to following Goddard and state licensing guidelines to ensure the health, safety, and education of all children
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
• Qualifying letter from NC DCDEE (We will help you apply if you do not already have one!)
