Job summary

The Goddard School in Waxhaw, NC is hiring a qualified One Year Olds Lead Teacher. The role involves supervising a classroom, developing weekly lesson plans, and delivering the Wonder of Learning curriculum with support from our Curriculum Coordinator.

We offer a competitive salary from $18+ per hour based on experience, a 9-hour workday with a 1-hour lunch break, paid holidays and time off, and health/dental/vision benefits. Training and development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in a classroom setting.
• At least 1 year of experience working with infants aged 6 weeks to 12 months.
• Qualifying letter from NC DCDEE (assistance offered to apply).
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs in relation to child handling.

Responsibilities

• Observe children’s interests and develop learning ideas with co-teachers.
• Develop weekly lesson plans with Curriculum Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred; Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
• At least 1 year of teaching experience in a classroom setting
• At least 1 year of experience working with infants aged 6 weeks to 12 months
• Develops relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, and faculty members
• Works cooperatively alongside all co-teachers and school resource teachers
• Works productively without supervision within established organizational policies and procedures
• Is highly motivated and takes direction well
• Ability to complete weekly lesson plans and carry them out within the classroom
• Must be committed to following Goddard and state licensing guidelines to ensure the health, safety, and education of all children
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
• Qualifying letter from NC DCDEE (We will help you apply if you do not already have one!)
