The Goddard School in Waxhaw, NC is seeking a Preschool Lead Teacher to nurture young minds and lead daily classroom activities. This role involves collaborating with parents to support learning using the Wonder of Learning curriculum and planning weekly lessons with guidance from our Curriculum Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• CDA preferred.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience in a classroom.
• Experience with children aged 3 to 4 years.
• Develops relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, and faculty members.
• Works cooperatively with co-teachers and school resource teachers.
• Ability to complete weekly lesson plans and carry them out within the classroom.
• Must follow Goddard licensing guidelines to ensure health, safety, and education of all children.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classroom and co-lead all classroom activities throughout the day.
• Observe children’s interests and develop creative ideas for implementing the Wonder of Learning curriculum with co-teachers.
• Develop weekly lesson plans with the Curriculum Coordinator.
• Celebrate children's laughter and growth during planned activities.
• Communicate with parents daily about their children’s adventures and achievements via apps and discussions.
• Engage with childcare professionals and pursue ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children aged 3 to 4 years
• Develops relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, and faculty members
• Works cooperatively alongside all co-teachers and school resource teachers
• Works productively without supervision within established organizational policies and procedures
• Is highly motivated and takes direction well
• Ability to complete weekly lesson plans and carry them out within the classroom
• Must be committed to following Goddard and state licensing guidelines to ensure the health, safety, and education of all children
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
• Meets background check eligibility
