Job summary

Child Care Resources Inc. seeks an One Year Old Teacher to ensure safety, care, and early development for children 12–24 months in a licensed daycare. The role requires energy, reliability, and teamwork in a busy classroom.

You will implement meaningful activities, support language and motor skill development, and maintain daily communication with families. A background check and health screen are required; training is offered for preferred certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of professional childcare experience.
• Pass a Bright from the Start (BFTS) background check and health screening.
• Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage children through play, movement, music and storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Daily Care & Hygiene: diapering, potty training support, and feeding.
• Curriculum Implementation: design and lead age-appropriate activities promoting language, motor and social skills.
• Classroom Management: maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment per regulations.
• Parent Communication: provide daily feedback to families on mood, milestones and needs.
• Safety & Supervision: supervise children at all times, including during transitions and outdoor play.

Job description

The One Year Old Teacher is responsible for the safety, care, and early developmental progress of children aged 12 to 24 months in a licensed daycare setting. A genuine love for working with early toddlers with a positive attitude. Experience in a licensed childcare setting (preferred). Ability to stay active, you’ll be sitting on the floor, dancing, and lifting toddlers throughout the day. Reliability and a team-player mindset.

What You'll Do

• Daily Care & Hygiene:Assist with fundamental needs includingdiapering, potty training support, and feeding.
• Curriculum Implementation:Design and lead age-appropriate activities that promotelanguage acquisition, motor skills, and social interactionthrough play, music, and storytelling.
• Classroom Management:Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment that adheres to Bright from the Start (BFTS) or state regulations.
• Parent Communication:Provide daily feedback to families regarding their child’s mood, developmental milestones, and physical needs via informal discussions or progress reports.
• Safety & Supervision:Ensure children are supervised at all times, including during transitions from home to the center or during outdoor play.

Requirements

Pass a BFTS Criminal Background Check

• Minimum of 1 year of professional childcare experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
• A strong understanding of child development and play, dance, and sit on the floor with young children.
• Must clear a full background check and must pass a health screening.
• Requirements include taking frequent walks, using hands and fingers, handling objects, tools, or controls, and talking to and hearing voices at many levels. You may also be required to kneel, bend, squat, or crawl.
• A specific vision ability will be required, including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, and tohave peripheral vision and depth perception.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Have

• Early childhood education or CDA credentials (Preferred but not required. Training is offered)
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. (Preferred but not required. Training is offered)
• Vacation Days (full-time employees after one year will receive 1-week paid vacation)
• Paid Holidays (for full-time employees only: Labor Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day (if these days fall on a regular work weekday).
