Naugatuck Public Schools' Hillside Intermediate campus seeks a Para-Educator to support students under the direction of a certified teacher. The role involves one-to-one or small-group assistance, reinforcing instruction and helping maintain materials, equipment and records.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, two years of college or an associate’s degree, and may need ParaPro-tested eligibility. Prior school experience is preferred; internal candidates encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years (48 credits) of college study or an associate degree.
• Passing ParaPro Assessment with a score of 457 or higher required.

Responsabilités

• Assist in preparing classroom for the school year.
• Maintain daily classroom environment and set up learning centers.
• Reinforce skills taught in daily lessons.
• Assist with transportation duties as needed.
• Attend PPT or IEP meetings when required.
• Support students with health and physical needs.
• Participate in field trips and school activities.
