Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a One-to-One Paraprofessional to provide direct services to individual students under professional supervision. Duties include supporting instructional activities, personal care, and communication systems, while collaborating with teachers and parents.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 48 college credits or an associate degree, and ABA training. Eligibility to work in the United States is required; bilingual candidates are valued.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• 48 Credit Hours of College Coursework or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on ParaPro or WorkKeys.
• Experience with a student with mild to moderate disabilities listed.
• Demonstrated experience with parents/guardians, administrators, teachers, and students.
• Ability to be flexible to accommodate student/parent needs.
• Trained in ABA.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist with small groups instruction and guidance.
• Aid with toileting, lifting, transfers, and personal hygiene as needed.
• Support with communication systems (ASL, Picture Exchange System, boards).
• Collaborate with the classroom teacher to implement activities and plans.
• Maintain open communications with parents and staff.
• Perform related duties as requested by school leadership.
