Job summary

Kindly Direct Care is hiring compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support adults with developmental disabilities in Mercer County, New Jersey. DSPs work one-to-one with individuals in homes and communities to build independence, confidence, relationships, and meaningful daily life.

This role is person-centered, may include companionship, community-based support, skill-building, daily living assistance, and transportation support when authorized.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient, and comfortable working one-to-one with an adult with developmental disabilities.
• Ability to follow individualized instructions.
• Background checks and onboarding requirements must be completed.
• Reliable transportation when required for a specific assignment.
• Experience in DSP, caregiving, or related field is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful one-to-one support at home and in the community.
• Help individuals participate in meaningful activities, hobbies, errands, appointments, recreation, and social opportunities.
• Teach and reinforce daily living, communication, social, safety, and independence skills.
• Encourage individual choice, self-advocacy, community inclusion, and healthy relationships.
• Assist with routines and activities of daily living as per the plan.
• Follow individualized behavioral, medical, safety, and support instructions within DSP scope and training.
• Maintain the individual’s health and safety and report concerns promptly.
• Complete required service documentation accurately and on time.
• Clock in and out and maintain dependable attendance and communication.
• Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, dignity, and respect.
