Job summary

Kindly Direct Care is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist adults with developmental disabilities across New Jersey. DSPs work one-to-one in homes and communities, promoting independence, confidence, and meaningful daily activities.

Roles vary by assignment and may include companionship, transportation support, skill-building, and routine assistance. Training and onboarding are provided, with part-time and full-time opportunities available to fit schedules.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient, dependable, and comfortable working one-to-one with an adult with developmental disabilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow individualized instructions.
• Ability to complete required documentation and use mobile/online systems for scheduling and service records.
• Ability to complete background checks, onboarding requirements, and state/agency training.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful one-to-one support at home and in the community.
• Help individuals participate in meaningful activities, hobbies, errands, appointments, recreation, and social opportunities.
• Teach and reinforce daily living, communication, social, safety, and independence skills.
• Encourage individual choice, self-advocacy, community inclusion, and healthy relationships.
• Assist with routines and activities of daily living when required by the individual’s plan.
• Follow individualized behavioral, medical, safety, and support instructions within DSP scope and training.
• Maintain the individual’s health and safety and promptly report concerns.
• Complete required service documentation accurately and on time.
• Clock in and out as required and maintain dependable attendance and communication.
• Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, dignity, and respect at all times.
