Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; experience with students with special needs preferred.
• Flexibility to meet changing student needs and strong tutorial skills.
• Ability to relate well with students, staff and parents.
• Willingness to participate in Special Education Department training.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one or designated support to the student throughout the school day.
• Assist with accessing instruction, routines, and the general education environment.
• Modify or adapt materials as directed by licensed staff.
• Reinforce academic concepts and skills previously introduced.
• Support social interaction and communication across school environments.
• Maintain student safety and dignity while supporting independence.
• Participate in transitions, meals, recess, and transportation as needed.
• Document observations and report progress to licensed staff.
