Job summary

Harvard Park Elementary School in Springfield, Illinois, seeks a Paraprofessional One on One With Student to support classroom instruction. The role is full-time, 7 hours per day (includes 30 min unpaid lunch) for 191 days per year, with CPI training included.

Responsibilities include assisting the teacher, supervising lunchroom and playground, helping with materials, and providing care for students who require total assistance.

Qualifications

• Educator licensure or valid substitute/licensure required; proof of 60 college hours or qualifying tests may be requested.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to follow directions and work with children in a school setting.
• Must pass physical and TB tests and CPI training.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with the students in the classroom.
• Assist teacher with supervision of students in the lunchroom, on the playground, and when proceeding to and from the buses.
• Use copying machine with teacher supervision to make materials for the classroom.
• Assist with feeding/toileting of students requiring total care.
• Assist with lifting and positioning of non-ambulatory students.
• Assist student with self help skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
