Job summary

FAIRVIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in Springfield, Illinois is seeking a Paraprofessional One on One With Student to support a student within the classroom and assist with supervision in the lunchroom, on the playground, and during bus transitions.

The position runs 7 hours per day (7 hours, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch) and 191 days per year. Starting date is immediate, with required CPI training and an Educator Licensure or equivalent. Salary is $20.77 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have Educator Licensure with Stipulation or valid Illinois Teaching Licensure or 90-day sub licensure.
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform all job-related functions; follow directions; communicate well with staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with students in the classroom.
• Supervise students in lunchroom, playground, and during bus transitions.
• Use copying machine with teacher supervision to create classroom materials.
• Assist with feeding and toileting of students needing total care.
• Assist with lifting/positioning of non-ambulatory students.
• Assist student with self-help skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
