Job summary

Springfield School District 186 Matheny-Withrow Elementary School in Springfield, IL is seeking a Paraprofessional 1:1 STRIVE to support teachers and students. The role requires an 7-hour day, 191 days per year, starting immediately, with CPI training and 1:1 aide responsibilities.

Duties include supervising students, assisting with materials, feeding and toileting, and helping non-ambulatory students; a valid educator licensure or 60 college hours is required.

Qualifications

• Must have Educator Licensure with Stipulation or valid Illinois Teaching Licensure or 90-day sub licensure.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to perform all job-related functions and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with students in the classroom.
• Supervise students in lunchroom, playground, and during transitions.
• Use copier to prepare classroom materials under teacher supervision.
• Assist with feeding and toileting of students needing total care.
• Assist with lifting and positioning of non-ambulatory students.
• Help students develop self-help skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
