Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools is seeking a Special Program Paraeducator 1, Life Skills for Hough Elementary in Vancouver, WA. This is a 6-hour per day position for nine months, working one-on-one with a student in need of targeted support.

Starting immediately, you will collaborate with the classroom teacher, participate in training, and help implement life skills goals. The role requires basic education credentials and a willingness to complete required CPI/de-escalation training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or 60/90 quarter credits or 48 semester credits or similar equivalency.
• ETS ParaPro Assessment score of 461 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Support a student one-on-one under the teacher's direction.
• Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Monitor student progress and behavior in classroom settings.
• Maintain confidentiality and work as part of the educational team.
