Job summary

Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC) Head Start seeks a Child Aide to provide individualized, one-on-one support in the Stewart Early Head Start classroom in Springfield, MO. You will help implement learning activities and support each child’s development.

You will collaborate with a team of teachers, maintain confidentiality, and foster a warm, inclusive learning environment while meeting program requirements and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience with young children.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to a child in the classroom.
• Assist with learning activities tailored to the child’s needs.
• Collaborate with teachers to support instruction and daily routines.
• Assist in developing or modifying instructional materials to meet learning goals.
• Support cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding child and family information.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
