Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC) is hiring a Child Aide for Stewart Early Head Start in Springfield, MO. The role provides individualized, one-on-one support to a child and assists with developmentally appropriate activities within a collaborative teaching team.

The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00–4:00, with benefits including health, vision, life insurance, retirement, PTO, holidays, tuition assistance, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience working with young children.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Preferred: Early Childhood degree.
• Copy of transcript required with application.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, one-on-one support to a child in the classroom.
• Assist with implementing learning activities tailored to the child's developmental needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to support classroom instruction and daily routines.
• Assist in developing or modifying instructional materials to meet individual learning goals.
• Support children's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
• Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding child and family information.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
