Job summary

Hickory Veterinary and Specialty Hospital is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our Oncology service on a part-time basis in Plymouth Meeting, PA. You will support the Oncology team with appointments, treatments, diagnostics, and follow-up care, while maintaining accurate medical records and clear client communication.

Experience in veterinary hospitals or specialty practices is preferred; CVT credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• CVT credentials preferred but not required.
• Experience in a veterinary hospital or specialty practice.
• Proficiency with in-house lab analyzers and diagnostic equipment.
• Familiarity with EzyVet.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Oncology team with patient appointments, treatments, diagnostics, and follow-up care.
• Obtain patient histories, prepare exam rooms, and support veterinarians during appointments.
• Collect and process diagnostic samples while operating in-house laboratory equipment.
• Monitor and care for oncology patients throughout their treatment journey.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding patient care and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with specialty and emergency teams to provide seamless patient care.
