Job summary

The START Center for Cancer Research is seeking a Scheduler to support our oncology clinic team in West Valley City, Utah. The role focuses on coordinating study schedules, radiology procedures, and patient appointments to ensure seamless care delivery.

Ideal candidates will have healthcare scheduling experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to navigate EMR systems while maintaining high-quality patient interactions and teamwork in a fast-paced research setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience in an outpatient physician practice or healthcare setting.
• Effective communication skills and collaborative attitude.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of medical terminology as it relates to scheduling study specific procedures such as CT/MRI/PET scans, biopsies, eye exams, etc.

Responsibilities

• Manage scheduling protocol Study Schedules including appointments, radiology procedures and hotel bookings.
• Ensure prior authorizations are completed.
• Schedule follow-up and treatment appointments, manage external referrals and consults, handling no-shows, and rescheduling patients.
• Maintain patient electronic medical records and ensure accurate filing, faxing, and copying.
• Collaborate with care team to ensure coordinated patient care and continuous quality improvement.
