Job summary

Illinois CancerCare is seeking a full-time Treatment Nurse (RN) to join a compassionate, collaborative team. The role offers a weekday schedule with no weekends or major holidays, supporting work‑life balance.

You will administer chemotherapy and other therapies, educate families, and provide patient-centered oncology care across clinic and satellite sites 1–2 days weekly. OCN certification within 3 years is encouraged, with HIPAA and safety standards strictly followed.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN license (required).
• BSN preferred.
• 1+ year of clinical nursing experience.
• Passion for oncology nursing and patient-centered care.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, emotionally rewarding environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other treatments with precision and safety.
• Perform port flushes, dressing changes, injections, and catheterizations.
• Assess patients in person and by phone for side effects, toxicities, emergencies, and well-being.
• Support physicians with diagnostic procedures and nursing assessments.
• Prepare daily treatment schedules and teaching materials.
• Maintain a clean, organized treatment environment and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Respond to emergencies and operate necessary equipment.
• Triages patient calls and collaborates with team nurses for timely support.
• Travel to satellite clinics 1-2 days per week to extend care across the network.
• Maintain professional relationships with hospitals, pharmacies, and community partners.
• Stay current with education and obtain OCN certification within 3 years.
• Uphold HIPAA and safety standards in all care aspects.
