Job summary
Illinois CancerCare is seeking a full-time Treatment Nurse (RN) to join our compassionate oncology team in Illinois. You will administer chemotherapy, provide patient education, and support families throughout the treatment journey.
This role offers a weekday schedule with no weekends or major holidays, allowing for work-life balance. You will collaborate with physicians and nurses to deliver life-saving therapies and extend care to satellite clinics 1-2 days per week across our network.
Qualifications
- Current Illinois RN license.
- Experience in oncology nursing is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other treatments with safety protocols.
- Performing port flushes, dressing changes, injections, and catheterizations.
- Assessing patients in person and by phone for side effects and overall well-being.
- Supporting physicians with diagnostic procedures and nursing assessments.
- Traveling to satellite clinics 1-2 days per week to extend care across our network.
- Staying current with education and obtaining OCN certification within 3 years.
