Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach seeks a skilled Oncology/Medical-Surgical RN for night shift. The role emphasizes safe administration of chemotherapy, neutropenic precautions, and patient education across cancer care.

Strong assessment, EKG interpretation, and emergency response abilities are required. Responsibilities include pre/post operative cancer care, port-a-cath management, collaboration with pain management, and contributing to staff development through in-services.

Qualifications

• Florida RN licensure required; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
• Specialty or professional certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in the area of specialty (Level III).

Responsibilities

• Initiate and safely administer antineoplastic agents and manage chemo/radiation care.
• Educate patients and families on neutropenic precautions and cancer treatments.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for cancer-related surgeries and procedures.
• Monitor and interpret EKGs, defibrillate when needed, and respond to oncologic emergencies.
• Coordinate with oncology pain management and present in-services on new cancer information (Level III).
• Document patient responses, maintain unit standards, and participate in floating as needed.
