Job summary

Brown University Health seeks an Oncology and Sterile Compounding Technician Specialist to perform sterile and non-sterile compounding in line with USP standards and Brown policies. You will support oncology medications, inventory, documentation, and coordination with the pharmacy oncology team.

The role requires prior oncology/sterile experience, RI licensure, and CPhT certification, with strong attention to safety, quality, and training duties within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a pharmacy technician, including oncology or sterile compounding.
• Current unrestricted Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician II licensure.
• Current National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
• Knowledge of pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing technology.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the sterile and non-sterile compounding meets USP 797, USP 800 and Brown policies.
• Maintain regulatory compliance with RI DOH, RI Board of Pharmacy and The Joint Commission.
• Manage inventory, temperature monitoring and storage appropriate to oncology medications.
• Collaborate with oncology team and purchasing to procure medications and supplies.
• Provide orientation and training to technicians, interns and externs.
