Job summary

Lifespan is looking for an Oncology Technician Specialist to perform sterile compounding of oncology medications, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. This role involves collaborating with the pharmacy oncology team to manage medication orders and inventory, promoting patient safety, and upholding the organization's values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician and hold relevant certifications. The position is located at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, offering a day shift with variable hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a pharmacy technician, including 2 years investigational, oncology and/or sterile compounding experience.
• Knowledge of pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing technology.
• Ability to multi-task and reprioritize while maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Perform sterile compounding of medications in compliance with US and state guidelines.
• Collaborate with pharmacy oncology team members to order and store medications.
• Ensure the sterile compounding environment is properly maintained.
