Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Oncology unit to join as full-time on the night shift (7pm–7am). This role offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance as part of the package.

The unit emphasizes safe, patient- and family-centered care with a focus on collaboration across disciplines. The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and coordinate care with the patient and family, while maintaining clinical excellence and pursuing ongoing

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing; if ADN, BSN must be completed within 5 years.
• Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Licensed or eligible for Virginia RN licensure (multi-state license acceptable).

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting data and trends.
• Develops individualized care plans based on assessment findings.
• Delivers patient- and family-centered care across the continuum.
• Advocates for patients’ rights and coordinates care with the healthcare team.
• Documents care activities per standards and supports documentation.
• Evaluates outcomes and contributes to performance improvement.
• Assists staff with patient education and mentoring junior team members.
• Uses clinical guidelines and evidence-based pathways in care delivery.
• Maintains continuing education and professional development.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
