Job summary

UVA Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 3 South Acute Oncology unit in Charlottesville. You will deliver care to patients with hematologic malignancies and solid tumors on a 28-bed unit, emphasizing complex, specialty care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
• 1 year of relevant experience.
• Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care for individuals with complex oncology diagnoses and co-morbidities.
• Administer and monitor advanced infusions, including chemotherapy, blood products, and supportive therapies.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary care team to implement individualized care plans.
• Provide ongoing symptom management and patient education to support patients and families throughout treatment.
• Engage in a highly interactive team environment that values communication, feedback, and continuous improvement.
• Take on increasing ownership of patient care while building leadership skills within the unit.
